from Pennsylvania; born probably near Wagontown, West Colen Township, Chester
County, Pa.; justice of the peace 1757-1786; Member of the Continental Congress
1777-1779; one of the first signers of the Articles of Confederation in 1778;
president of the county courts 1780-1786; died on May 9, 1790; interment in
